Residential Framing Carpenter Topeka, Lawrence, & Kansas City Locations

Winston Brown, a 50-year-old, family-owned residential remodeling and custom home contractor, has an immediate opening for a highly skilled Residential Carpenter. Our projects include, but are not limited to new custom homes, whole house remodels, additions, kitchens, baths, and exteriors. We provide a friendly, team-based work environment, competitive compensation, and great benefits.

 

Essential Functions

  • Carpentry, high-quality craftsmanship, labor, and job safety

  • Protecting customer property from undue dust and debris

  • Providing supervision of field personnel when necessary

  • Knowing and understanding all job-related paperwork (permits, plans, change orders, specifications)

  • Assisting the Project Manager in meeting the specifications of Winston Brown Remodeling contracts with clients and trade contractors

  • Checking all materials for quality and accuracy as they arrive on the job site; handling pick-up and delivery of materials

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in residential finish work and remodeling

  • Ability to work with a crew or independently to complete demo, site protection, framing, window and door installation, exterior trim, and interior finish work

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong work ethic and communication skills

  • Ability to supervise the work of others on the job site (apprentices and truck drivers)

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and detailed specifications

  • Good driving record, valid license, and insurance (required for use of company-provided vehicles)
